About the Show
Young Pippin, privileged enough to have choice, craves the extraordinary only to find that the sinful influences of the modern day seven deadlies – glorification of war, click-bait worthy headlines, othering of immigrants, fawning fans & influencers, hedonistic and voyeuristic dating sites, spending & living to excess – cloud the simplest virtues of a fulfilled life. This episodic story will be molded and shaped by the Players who are representative of different aspects of Pippin’s, and every named character’s, self-destructive behaviors - the Seven Deadly Sins. With mirrors as a representation of social media, chained to every Sin and Player, self-reflection is glossed over by the desire to reflect the perfect life. As the show progresses they lead Pippin toward the ultimate “grand finale” of fiery hell. Even though they are rejected, Pippin & Catherine are left to watch Theo begin the journey, again wrestling with these realities as the world spins forward. The propaganda, the veneer, the presentation matters to this world that flows in and out of scenes quickly, colorfully, seamlessly, magically. It is a spectacle of movement, caricature, and indulgences that will hopefully leave the audience asking what truly brings them joy at the end of the day.
